William Powell Tuck Pastor in the Interim |
Bill is a native of Virginia and has served as pastor in NC, VA, KY, and LA and was Professor of Preaching at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Presently he is an Adjunct Professor at the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Th.D. degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Emily, a graduate of Meredith College, and is the father of two children and three grandchildren. He is the author or editor of 13 books and loves to read, write, spend time with his grandchildren and go to estate sales and antiquing. |

Michael W. Morris Associate Minister for Administration and Social Ministries |
Mike is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mike's spare time spent away from church includes keeping up with his daughter Elizabeth and his wife Noel. Mike also serves as Chaplain to the N.C. Senate and enjoys playing golf. |

Mary Alice Seals
Minister of Music |
A native of Lumberton, North Carolina,
Mary Alice received her Bachelor of Music degree from The University of
North Carolina at Greensboro and both Master of Church Music and Doctor of
Music Ministry degrees from
The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
Mary Alice has pursued a dual career in church music ministry and the
academic world. She left her position as Assistant Dean and
Associate Professor of Church Music in the M. Christopher White School of
Divinity at Gardner-Webb University to join our ministry team in August
2000. |

Lin Carter
Minister of Christian Education and Children |
A native of South Carolina, Lin is a graduate of NC State University and Gardner-Webb University Divinity School. Lin has served Baptist churches around the state including Providence Baptist Church of Charlotte, First Baptist Church Wilmington, and the Church at Weddington. He enjoys reading and a variety of sports including golf, football, basketball and volleyball. He and his wife Tonya have three children: Joshua, Catherine and Caleb. |

Lynn Lingafelt Director of Preschool Ministries |
Lynn received her Bachelor of Arts degree
in Psychology from Meredith College and holds a North Carolina teacher's
certificate for grades K-4. She and her husband, Scott, have three
children, Luke, Sarah, and Philip. Lynn enjoys the outdoors and spending
time with her family.

Donna Jolly Organist |
Donna came to First Baptist as organist in July, 1987. She holds the Bachelor of Music from East Carolina University and the Master of Music from Meredith College. In addition to responsibilities at the church, she is a member of the piano faculty at Meredith College, orchestral pianist with the North Carolina Symphony, and a collaborative performer with singers and instrumentalists in recital. She enjoys cooking and getting away from a busy schedule to visit her daughter, Jenni. |

Shigeyuki Yokoi Japanese Ministry |
Shigeyuki (Simon) came to First Baptist in October 2002 from Third Baptist Church of Murfreesboro, TN, where he served for ten years in Japanese Ministries. He earned his BA in Industrial Chemistry at Osaka Technical College, worked for 10 years with Coffee Shop ministries in Japan, and then was called to the United States to pursue the vision of reaching Japanese with the message of the gospel through teaching and training. Simon and his wife Sachiko live in Cary with their daughter Mitsuho. |

Davis Minister of Youth and College |
Trey received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Davidson College in 2001 and a Master of Divinity degree from the Divinity School at Wake Forest University in 2005. Upon graduating from Wake, he began serving at First Baptist. He is a big fan of minor league baseball, rock music, his wife Jennifer, and their dog Holly (not necessarily in that order

J. Daniel Day Pastor Emeritus |
Dan is a native Oklahoman who has served congregations in Louisiana, Texas, and Missouri as well as in Oklahoma. He's a lover of good movies, popcorn, musty bookstores, football and just about all kinds of music. He received his seminary training from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He came to FBC Raleigh in October of 1996 and retired in August 2007. |

John M. Lewis Pastor Emeritus |
A native Floridian, Dr. Lewis came to our church as pastor after teaching at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and at Meredith College. He holds the distinction of serving this church longer than any other of its 30 pastors, 1960-1987. He remains a valued spiritual leader among us. |
